About
Becky Warner
Independent Health Practitioner
People often ask about my background — and why I work the way I do.
My path into this work began as a parent.
When my son, Elliot, was 17, he was diagnosed with ME/CFS. We were told there was no treatment, no cure — only energy management and antidepressants.
Over time, his health declined dramatically, and his body shut down.
He became bedbound, unable to feed himself or even turn over in bed.
We repeatedly begged for a feeding tube
to keep him alive.
It was refused.
Like many families living with severe ME/CFS, we were told his tests were “normal”, that there was nothing more that could be done, and that recovery would happen "when he wanted it to”.
For three years,
I spent around 8 hours a day
feeding him,
one teaspoon at a time, simply
to keep him alive.
During those many hours sitting with him, feeding him, day after day, I spent the time learning everything I could about nutrition, immunity, metabolism, and biochemistry, which I continued to work on for many years under the guidance of the experienced biochemist Greg Russell-Jones (more in this blog post)
Not because I believed doctors were failing —
but because I could see that when tests come back within standard ranges, the system often has no tools left to offer, even when someone is profoundly unwell.
Gradually, we implemented what I had learned, and my son recovered.
Today, he has passed his
A-levels and his driving test
and is working part-time,
something we never thought possible during his worst years.
As his health improved, I chose to formalise what I had learned.
I trained to Level 5 in Nutrition, Immunity, and Metabolism, and became registered with the Royal Society for Public Health.
I never gave up hope,
and that hope
is what I want to share with you!
Now, as an Independent Health Practitioner, I am committed to helping others by sharing our knowledge freely on YouTube and our blog, and by working with you directly.
How This Shapes My Work
At M.E. & You Living, I help those with chronic symptoms uncover the 'why' behind their health struggles.
I understand how difficult it is to find the right support and help, and know how important it is to treat "the whole person."
By applying specialised functional analysis to your labs, I look beyond 'normal' to find the optimal—giving you the data-driven roadmap you need to reclaim your life.
My training isn't just in general nutrition; I specialise in Nutrient Metabolism, and the latest research is at the heart of everything I do.
This means I don't just look at whether you're taking vitamins—I look at the lab markers that tell us if your cells are actually absorbing them.
My work is grounded in:
-
Looking at "function" (how your body works).
-
Nutrition as a foundation for health.
-
Careful interpretation of test results using optimal ranges.
-
Respect for complexity, fragility, and individual tolerance.
-
Ethical, evidence-informed practice within scope.
I work particularly with people who:
-
Live with severe fatigue or ME/CFS.
-
Have been told their tests are “normal” despite ongoing symptoms.
-
Suspect there is something being missed, but don’t want extreme or aggressive interventions.
I do not believe people are ill because they are not trying hard enough.
You're not broken!
You're not alone!
There is a way forward!
I'd Love to help you
About M.E. & You Living
Working With Test Results
One area I specialise in is interpreting test results using optimal ranges, rather than relying only on broad laboratory reference values.
Standard lab ranges are created to detect disease.
They do not always show what is best for your overall health — especially in people experiencing fatigue, immune stress, or neurological symptoms.
Where appropriate, I can assist you to:
-
Understand what your results might indicate in everyday terms.
-
Explore whether levels that are technically “normal” could still be sub-optimal for you.
-
Make sense of complex or confusing reports without medical jargon.
This work is always:
-
Evidence-based
-
Within a professional scope
-
Intended to support, not replace, medical care

Gentle, nutrition-focused support
Nutrition is at the heart of my work.
I support people living with severe fatigue, ME/CFS, and long-term unexplained symptoms, particularly when test results are described as “normal” but clearly don't reflect how unwell someone feels.
My approach is careful, compassionate, and grounded in professional training, with a strong awareness of how fragile and sensitive many bodies are after prolonged illness.
Why Nutrition Is Foundational to Health
Good nutrition is not about perfection, restriction, or rules.
It is about whether your body has what it needs to function, repair, and adapt.
Every system in the body depends on nutrients:
• Energy production
• Immune regulation
• Hormone balance
• Detoxification
• Nervous system stability
When key nutrients are missing, poorly absorbed, or out of balance, the body may struggle —
even if disease is not present.
For people with chronic illness, these systems are often under extra strain, making nutrition even more important.
Food, Supplements, and Sensitivity
Many people with ME/CFS and severe fatigue are highly sensitive to foods, supplements, and even well-intentioned advice.
I work carefully with:
-
Food choices that prioritise tolerance and nourishment
-
Supplements only where appropriate, and never aggressively
-
Introducing or adjusting support slowly and cautiously, if at all
If something feels too much for your system, we stop.
Your body sets the pace.
How We Work Together
Nutrition support is offered through 1:1 health coaching, delivered in a way that respects low energy and cognitive fatigue.
Sessions are:
-
Calm and unhurried
-
Adapted to your capacity on the day
-
Focused on clarity rather than overwhelm
Between sessions, I aim to keep information simple, relevant, and manageable —
not another thing for you to cope with.
This nutrition support:
-
✔️ Is grounded in professional nutrition training
-
✔️ Works alongside your GP or consultant
-
✔️ Respects the complexity of ME/CFS
-
✔️ Prioritises safety, gentleness, and lived experience
It does not:
-
Replace medical diagnosis or treatment
-
Promise cures or recovery timelines
-
Use aggressive protocols or “one-size-fits-all” plans
What Progress Often Looks Like
Progress with nutrition support is rarely dramatic or linear — particularly when fatigue or ME/CFS is involved.
For many people, improvements show up gradually, such as:
• More stable energy
• Fewer crashes and quicker recovery after them
• Improved tolerance to food or supplements
• Clearer thinking
• Better sleep quality
• A sense that the body is coping better
These shifts can be subtle at first, but over time, small improvements can accumulate into meaningful changes in your quality of life.
This work focuses on building capacity, not forcing recovery.
Nutrition support is not a quick fix.
Optimising nutrition and addressing deficiencies can significantly improve health and resilience, but this happens through consistency over time, not through intensity or pressure.
Especially with ME/CFS or long-term fatigue:
• Progress maybe slow and uneven
• Pushing harder rarely helps
• Stability is a success, not a failure
My approach is to:
• Prioritise what matters most
• Avoid overwhelm
• Make changes your body can actually tolerate
Sometimes the most important step is simply understanding what’s going on, even if action comes later.
