Testing Is Essential
I use precise data to guide you back to health.
Stop guessing,
start knowing.
We are proud to work with trusted diagnostic partners who share our commitment to excellence in health care.

Each test is carefully selected to provide meaningful results to support your recovery journey.
Why “Normal” Test Results Don’t Always Mean Optimal Function
Many people come to M.E. & You Living feeling exhausted, unwell, and confused, often after being told that their tests are "within range" and that nothing is wrong.
Yet symptoms persist.

My training allows me to identify markers that are often overlooked in conventional settings.

The Problem:
Around the world, doctors do extraordinary work.
But modern medicine relies on standardised lab reference ranges,
which are designed to identify disease in the broad "normal" population and do not always reflect our individual optimal function.

When someone falls outside those ranges, action is taken, but if your results fall inside the ranges, support often stops, even if your symptoms are severe.

This is not a criticism of clinicians; it is a limitation of the tools they have available.

Standard lab ranges are designed to find disease, not to foster vitality.
If you are looking at standard ranges, you are looking at the average of a sick population.

One simple example is iron levels.
“A serum ferritin level of less than 30 micrograms/L confirms the diagnosis of iron deficiency.” NICE
Yet many UK labs start the reference range for ferritin at 11 micrograms/L
Because of this, many people with iron deficiency anaemia are
told their levels are "normal" and "No action required".

The World Health Organisation has this to say:
"Anaemia caused 50 million years of healthy life lost due to disability in 2019.
Iron deficiency is one of the leading causes.

Globally, it's estimated that 40% of children under 5 years old,
37% of pregnant women,
and 30% of women 15–49 years of age
worldwide are anaemic."

Being iron-deficient has serious health consequences that can occur well before your doctor detects it, and for many individuals, particularly those experiencing fatigue, immune stress, or neurological issues, this ferritin level is devastating.

Unfortunately, this situation is extremely common and occurs with many of the standard blood tests your doctor uses.

My Credentials & Philosophy:
I believe that "unexplained" doesn't mean "unfixable."
By combining the precision of modern health technology with functional nutrition, I help you reclaim the energy that standard medicine (and search engines) often overlook.
The Tests
Blood Tests
Looking beyond the reference range

Common blood tests I look at:

-
Full Blood Count
-
Iron status.
-
Vitamins B12 and Vitamin D.
-
Liver function tests.
-
Kidney function tests
-
Thyroid markers.
-
Inflammatory markers.
-
Diabetes tests.

When reviewed through a nutrition-focused lens, blood results can highlight:

-
Early deficiencies.
-
Suboptimal nutrient status.
-
Patterns linked to fatigue and poor recovery.
I focus on careful, evidence-informed interpretation, using optimal ranges, always alongside medical care, not instead of it.

You have likely had many of these blood tests performed by your physician, and you are entitled to a copy of your results.

Doctor’s Data Hair Mineral Analysis

A longer-term view of mineral balance

Hair Mineral Analysis is a very valuable test that can greatly transform your understanding of how to improve your health. It really is my favourite test and offers insight into:

-
Mineral patterns over time.

-
Electrolyte balance.

-
Metabolic stress.

-
Potential mineral deficiencies.
Hair analysis reflects longer-term trends and is a valuable complement to blood testing.
Mosaic Diagnostics Organic Acids Test (OAT)

Insight into energy, metabolism, and nutrient needs

The Organic Acids Test looks at metabolic
by-products in urine, which can give information about:

-
Mitochondrial energy production.
-
B vitamin sufficiency.
-
Oxidative stress.
-
Gut-related metabolites.
For people with chronic fatigue or complex symptoms, this test can help:

-
Identify functional blocks in energy pathways.
-
Guide nutrition support more precisely.
-
Avoid guesswork.

The HTMA hair test uses 1 inch of unbleached or coloured hair, cut close to the scalp (pubic hair can be used). They recommend taking multiple small sections of hair from all around the back of your head, which is usually not noticeable.
The OAT urine test is slightly more complicated. It requires a small sample of your first morning urine, which shouldn’t be collected during menstruation.
These foods should be avoided for 48 hours before taking the OAT test:
Apples, apple juice and products, grapes, grape juice (wine) and products (including raisins), pears, pear juice and products, cranberries, cranberry juice and products, reishi mushrooms or echinacea, arabinogalactan or ribose Supplements.
Also wait 2 days after any antibiotics.
The urine sample should then be frozen with its own little ice pack until it is collected by DPD.
All the instructions are in the packets as well as the instructions for arranging the DPD collection; you can usually book a 2-hour time slot.

Why I Offer Tests With Support
My goal is to teach everyone how to read their own lab tests, and I share my knowledge on my YouTube channel, here:
However, because test results can be:

-
Confusing.
-
Anxiety-provoking.
-
Easily misinterpreted.
Especially when energy is low, having more information is not always helpful.
That's why I offer testing with interpretation, paced to your capacity.
My role is to help you understand what matters now, and what can safely wait.

I offer the Hair Mineral Analysis and OAT tests at a discounted rate when you book a service with me.

The other option is Monitor My Health finger prick tests, £72 this can be a bit tricky.
Test - Don't Guess

1
Organic Acids Test (OAT)
The Organic acid test analyses 76 urinary metabolites, revealing insights into metabolic function, nutrient deficiencies, and health conditions.

It includes biomarkers for intestinal microbial overgrowth, neurotransmitters, and detoxification.

Urine analysis, preferred for its higher concentration of organic acids, aids in identifying underlying causes of chronic illness.

Some foods should be avoided before taking this test.

Hair Mineral Test Analysis (HMTA)
Hair element analysis provides valuable insights into physiological disorders associated with the metabolism of essential and toxic elements.

Using a small sample of hair cut close to the skin.

Nutrient elements such as magnesium, zinc, Iodine, molybdenum, and selenium are vital for enzyme function, whereas toxic elements such as lead and mercury can accumulate in hair, providing a unique perspective on recent exposure.
